6-7 Months

Ethan is 8 months old next week, so I'd better post some highlights from his sixth and seventh months! In the sixth month, Ethan began getting up on his hands and knees and scooting backwards. He loved being outside and around other people and thoroughly enjoyed people-watching during his first zoo experience at the Como Zoo in St. Paul (he didn't so much care about the animals!). He started having some stranger anxiety, but nothing too bad, and he really began wanting mommy. He also finally started taking a pacifier. At the beginning of the seventh month, we went back to Grenora and Bottineau for the week of the 4th of July. His cousins on the Norby side taught him how to "army crawl." He enjoyed all of his cousins and going to his first parade in Grenora and going to Lake Metigoshe in Bottineau. He loved the water and sat on daddy's lap in the water at Dan and Mary Jo's for a long time. Grandma Gloria came back to the Cities with us and watched Ethan for a week and helped train in his new nanny, Brittany. Ethan loved the extra grandma time and was crawling all over our first week back. The day after grandma left, he began pulling himself up on furniture. He is now a pro at crawling and standing and likes to show off with one hand on furniture...until he falls down, of course. He is a very, very busy boy and into everything! And now that he crawls and stands....his sleeping couldn't be worse. He loves to get up in the middle of the night and practice his new skills. Yet, somehow he remains happy pretty much all day long!
